WORKSHOP
11th to 13th November 2009 in Karlsruhe, Germany
Within the international research community – as within KIT – remote sensing technologies as well as image analysis methods play an increasing role in the area of hazard, exposure and vulnerability assessment.
The goal of the November workshop was to invite researchers of a wide spectrum to identify open issues concerning risk and vulnerability assessment using remote sensing technologies and discuss intensely about strategies towards their solution. Therefore, we brought together KIT-researchers with partners in Germany as well as around the globe.
This workshop was not yet another conference, where presentations stand in the foreground and questions appear on the brink. On the contrary, the invited contributions were the base for advanced and forward-looking and trendsetting discussions.
In four panel sessions and two follow up discussion sessions different aspects could be discussed and further research needs were destilled.
Further actitivies within RiSkNET are possible.
